Goldsmith Vintage x Rough Trade Collaboration
We here at Goldsmith Vintage have teamed up with legendary record shop, Rough Trade to celebrate our mutual, un-ending love and appreciation for both vintage clothing and vinyl with an exclusive, original clothing range.

This one-off, limited edition collection of just 100 items, reflects the long-standing cultural union of vintage fashion and independent music and extraordinary, original art. Goldsmith Vintage have contributed an abundance of mint condition, quality pre-loved plain sweatshirts and t-shirts for which brilliant artist Elliot Snowman has generously designed a stunning tiger design incorporating both Rough Trade's and Goldsmith Vintage's logos in his own unique, colourful style. As is the nature of vintage, no two pieces are the same and as such, each individual garment bears a special certification tag.

About Rough Trade

Like Goldsmith Vintage, Rough Trade have always been fiercely creative with enduring links to their audience and community, first opening its doors in 1976 and specialising in garage rock and reggae. Based on Kensington Park Rd in the heart of west London at a time when punk was taking over the world, Rough Trade was in the eye of the hurricane throughout this exciting movement. Over forty-five years on and with stores in New York, London, Bristol and Nottingham, they’re still widely considered the leaders of the pack, stocking an extensive range of vinyl that includes Rough Trade Essential and Exclusive collections as well as all the newest cutting edge music out there. In addition they run a varied live events programme often showcasing burgeoning talent as well as popular established artists.

About Elliot Snowman

Elliot Snowman is a talented contemporary graphic artist based in Brighton, well-known for his eye-catching, colourful designs and who has worked with the likes of Gucci, Moncler and Chilly's. A printer, painter and textiles artist, Snowman is currently riding a wave of massive popularity with over 70k followers on Instagram but manages to retain a sense of mystery as very little is actually known about him. We can't get enough of his beautifully vibrant and surreal animal designs and couldn't be more proud to work with him on this project.

Why did Goldsmith Vintage get involved?

Goldsmith Vintage are delighted to be co-hosting this amazing project as it wholly resonates with everything that is important to us as a company. Our ethos is to take pre-loved quality, unique garments and deliver them to a new audience, combatting the damage that fast fashion has created.  By teaming up with Rough Trade and Elliot Snowman we're collectively producing a limited collection of beautiful one-off items of clothing so our customers can look and feel amazing at no cost to the planet.

"As a devoted vinyl lover and avid supporter of independent record stores, we are honoured to collaborate with our Portobello Road neighbours Rough Trade. My love of vintage all started growing up in the 80s and 90s, being fully immersed in the subcultures from punk through to rave, so we’re so thrilled to be partnering up with such an iconic store on this project"

Peter Goldsmith, founder of Goldsmith Vintage

"Like your taste in music, vintage clothing allows you to explore and express your individuality. Curating a collection, be it a music library or eclectic wardrobe is a highly personal exercise in self-expression, but something that also allows us to connect with others and indulge in local, community-led independent stores. Like Rough Trade, Goldsmith Vintage have a passion for the communities they serve and look to promote the longevity of the product they sell, so that it might be cherished for years to come, often preserved in happy sentimentality.

We're excited to join forces on this project, combining our great love of the physical music format with quality pre-loved clothing and the creative cool of Elliot Snowman."
